Liverpool Set to Sign Two of the World’s Best
Liverpool are wasting no time reinforcing their squad following their triumphant 2024/25 Premier League campaign.
Their long-term goalkeeping strategy seems well structured, with the arrivals of Giorgi Mamardashvili and Armin Pecsi this summer.
Elsewhere, Trent Alexander-Arnold has completed an early move to Real Madrid in a deal worth around £10million, with Jeremie Frimpong brought in as his replacement.
Attention now turns to two more incoming signings, both widely regarded as among the finest in world football.
“He’s probably the best player in Europe at the moment,” former Liverpool midfielder Dietmar Hamann said of Wirtz on the Aldo Meets Podcast.
Some Liverpool supporters have gone as far as to suggest that Florian Wirtz might be the most significant signing in the club’s history.
At the same time, Troy Deeney has previously described Milos Kerkez as one of the top full-backs in the global game.
“For me he is one of the best left-backs in world football already,” Deeney previously told BBC Sport.
“He is exceptional with the ball and without it, runs all day and has loads of room to grow.
“It is not surprising that Liverpool have been linked to him.”
