Liverpool are reportedly among the clubs interested in signing Malick Fofana from Lyon this summer, as per a report.
The young winger made the switch from KAA Gent to the Ligue 1 side in January 2024 and quickly became a key figure in the squad. He ended the season with 11 goals and six assists across 41 appearances.
His strong form has attracted attention from multiple Premier League sides, with Liverpool named as one of the clubs monitoring his progress.

Earlier this week, L’Equipe revealed that Chelsea had made informal contact with Lyon to explore a potential deal for the 20-year-old talent.
In a fresh update, the same outlet claimed Liverpool, Manchester United, and Nottingham Forest are all keeping tabs on the Belgium international.
While Nottingham Forest have already made an approach, they are said to lack the ‘required stature’ to compete with the other suitors. By contrast, both Manchester United and particularly Liverpool are believed to possess ‘solid arguments’ in their efforts to secure the youngster’s signature.
Fofana is now under the representation of Roc Nation Sports, and the report indicates that Liverpool have already initiated discussions with his new agent. No such contact has been reported from Manchester United at this stage.
Lyon paid €19.5 million to sign Fofana and hold him under contract until 2028. They are now valuing the player at over €50 million, with owner John Textor in no hurry to sanction a sale.
According to L’Equipe, there is a belief that the bidding war for Fofana could escalate significantly, although whether that materialises remains uncertain.
